Having Sex During Your Period

My boyfriend won’t make love to me while I am having my period. Is there something wrong? Doesn’t he love me or want me anymore?

There are many differences between men and women but none more telling than the cyclic nature of a woman’s sexuality. Throughout the ages, menstruation has been alternately revered and feared by men — and sometimes both simultaneously.

Some men are turned off by menstruation. Some men are turned on. Most are ambivalent. With the men who are turned off, liberal education will avail to naught — you will just have to resign yourself to a few days of celibacy. But love has nothing to do with it. With the men who are turned on, you may find yourself making love five times a day! While with the vast majority of men, it will make no difference one way or another.

And this cuts both ways. There are also some women who are turned off by menstruation.

One thing to keep in mind: micro-organisms ARE turned on by blood, producing pungent odors which many people — not all! — may find offensive. It’s nothing a shower and a bar of soap can’t take care of. Only the companies that make big bucks off embarrassment really believe we need to flavor ourselves like herbal teas during that time of the month.
